Opportunities

Area II has many opportunities for you to get involved at the area level. Involvement at the area level is important when applying for Awards and Scholarships. Check out some of the opportunities listed below and contact your chapter advisor for more information on getting involved.

District Officer Positions

Serving as a District Officer is an opportunity for you to represent your District at the Area, State and even National level. Each district has its own officer selection process that takes place each year. District officers must hold the Chapter FFA Degree, and are typically sophomores or juniors in high school when they are elected. Area Convention

The Area II FFA Convention takes place each May, where students conduct the business of the Area II FFA Association. You have the opportunity to compete at the area level in speaking events, hear candidate speeches from potential Area II Officers, vote on officer candidates and talent teams, and hear retiring addresses from your outgoing Area II Officer team. Finally, you will get to see the upcoming Area II Officers for the first time. Contact your chapter advisor for more information on how you can attend Area Convention.

Courtesy Corps

Courtesy Corp occurs at the Area, State and National levels, and occasionally the District level as well. Courtesy corp members assist in ensuring that conventions and other events proceed as smoothly as possible. To apply for Courtesy Corp at each level, contact your chapter advisor.

Area Officer Positions

Area Officers represent the Area at the State and National level. Each district in Area II is represented each year by at least one Area Officers. Officers must hold the Chapter Degree, and are juniors in high school when they are elected. Officers assist in coordinating and motivating the voting delegates at the Texas FFA State Convention each year, as well as serve as voting delegates representing Texas FFA at the National FFA Convention. Area Nomination Committee

The Area Nomination Committee is charged with the task of selecting the New Area Officers at each Area Convention. For more information on how to apply to join the nomination committee, contact your chapter advisor.

Area Leadership Camp

Area Leadership Camp (ALC) is an opportunity to get fired up about the upcoming year, as well as discover new ways to improve your leadership skills. This event takes place in June each year. Contact your chapter advisor to see how you can represent your chapter at the next Area II Leadership Camp.
